Cloud Engineer

OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a Cloud Engineer, with a focus on Kubernetes and AWS, to join our rapidly growing Engineering team.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will be exposed to all facets of the business as you build the next generation of infrastructure to support product development at Sidecar. You’ll be working in one of the most collaborative offices in Center City Philly, developing and working with machine learning technology, surrounded by passionate, high-performing individuals. 

The Cloud Engineer candidate is an intelligent, motivated person that enjoys collaborating with talented co-workers to solve complex problems and make a meaningful impact on a team.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and an understand the different services that AWS offers
  • Experience creating and maintaining Devops infrastructure on cloud platforms
  • Expertise and hands on experience with Containers (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Javascript, or Bash
  • A strong critical thinker and problem solver with the ability to innovate and lead the team in the candidate's area of expertise

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ansible
  • Terraform
  • Linux System Administration experience
  • Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD)
  • Experience with Go programming language
  • Experience in startup environments
  • Experience in the advertising/ad tech industry

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Cloud Engineer, you will be building the foundation for distributed, scalable, cloud-based systems to support Sidecar’s e-commerce applications. We are building a microservice-based system with a centralized API and user interface to support our growing client base.

  • Improve our infrastructure platform by automating manual tasks, reducing points of failures, and ensuring high availability of Sidecar systems.
  • Work with Product teams to understand requirements and recommend improvements to Sidecar infrastructure and provide a solid platform for development.
  • Take part in our continuous delivery workflow in order to allow teams to deploy/rollback quickly, without any downtime.
  • Build and maintain tools for monitoring and logging of Sidecar systems with customizable alerting.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in our development, test and production environments
  • Follow and help improve Sidecar's standards for design, coding, testing, and documentation
