Software Engineer II

OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join our rapidly growing Innovation team. 

As a Software Engineer II, you will be exposed to all facets of the business and be encouraged to learn and develop skills both within and beyond your role. You will be working in one of the most collaborative offices in Center City Philly, developing and working with machine learning technology, surrounded by passionate, high-performing individuals. In this role, you will be exposed to the heart of Sidecar and work side-by-side with engineers who have deep domain knowledge of our performance marketing products. 

The ideal candidate is an intelligent, motivated person who thinks for themselves, has strong opinions weakly held, and is motivated by team success as well as their own.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience with Software Engineering practices in production environments
  • 1+ years of experience with JavaScript in production environments
  • 6+ months of React experience in production environments
  • Version Control (Git)
  • Giving and receiving code review

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Comfortable working in small dynamic teams
  • Exposure to writing and maintaining automated acceptance tests
  • Experience in any/all of the following languages or technologies
    • TypeScript
    • GraphQL
    • Go
    • gRPC
    • REST API’s

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Software Engineer II on our Search and Shopping Engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering features using agile methodologies, contributing automated acceptance tests of your work, and collaborating in team and product direction.

  • Develop, test, and deliver new features of Sidecar's technology as a member of a project team
  • Advocate for and help improve Sidecar's standards for design, coding, testing, and documentation
  • Improve on our existing features and help maintain scalable, stable, and sustainable codebases
  • Successfully deliver features that meets company, product, and team goals and standards
